The shots presented here were taken in Cuba during the 1967-69 and 1973-76 period with a non-automatic camera Practica (produced in German Democratic Republic). Either ORWOCHROM-UT18 (color) or ORWO-NP20 (BW) slide-film was used. The slides were scanned by AGFA DuoScan scanner and processed by Adobe Photoshop software.

Saludos Pdro - Varsovia.
Hi again Czech Guy, Thanks for the info. But I still don't understand why would they not seel them as GAZ or VAZ jeeps or whatever ? In 1966 I started studying at the Pre Del Vedado, that I''m sure you know. There we had several czech student friends. So when the soviet invasion came in 67 or 68 they used to tell us in detail what was going on really. Not all of them were that open, most were deathly afraid that their parents would get their contracts rescinded. Obviously some of them were having a better time in Havana than they woud have had in Europe, not because of the climate (which we all hated) but because they had more access to real currency and were treated better by the cuban government (or at least that's the impression I got.) I had a russian girlfriend who first lived at the Focsa and then the cuban government paired with another soviet couple and the two families shared a 2 story house in Vedado at 28th avenue and 15th street if I remember correctly. Thanks again czech guy for the photos, they bring great memories. My family and I lost all our property to Castro.
I lived on C street, right around the corner, between 1st and 3rd. Across from me lived an older lady who owned the most fantastic Mercedes Benz Cabriolet. It was silver with a navy blue roof. On 3rd street lived a very rich guy who owned a 1958 Buick Roadmaster. A huge and rare car. One of the great pluses of living there was walking to Kasalta anytime to have icecream or whatever. The streets were not paved. I liked it like that.
This was the nave Rio Damuji. Today almost nothing is left.
