Thank you dziwnowik, and it's a great place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Norway Norway, the most beautiful edge of the world :-)
After a little digging, it seems that the window pane with the "face" was installed after Wells died, and certainly after his imprisonment there. Fun story, but people see what they want to see.
Ok good luck! Hope you have good views this time, they really are amazing!

When I was about 4-5 years old, we lived in a house on the other side of this bridge(close to the train tracks). Whenever I come back to Sunbury, I always drive over the bridge and revisit a small part of my childhood. My mom would take my sister and I down to the Coal creek and let us sit in the shallow water...however, when I was there recently the water was rusty orangy brown....I don't remember it being that color but I do remember all the fine coal dirt that would gather in our bathing suits. Great memories. Thank you.
Yes, I was there last October and saw it was back open. Unfortunately, safety concerns remain an issue and the bridge can be closed again at any time until significant repairs can be made. I assume that the Swann and Easley covered bridges remain closed due to the same reasons. I'll be back down there in either October or November to check things again.
Thank you, Odeveld, for your compliments for the Bernese Alps as well as for the photo! I have uploaded some pictures from the Jungfrau region and I will do some more. Best wishes, May
