I was googling images of the north fork dam spillway and notice this picture in your album.

My grandmother, Louise Cable, taught at this school. All ages would be in the same room at the same time. Could you image that? Either you could drift off into "imaginary land" if the teacher's subject matter was over your head, or you could get a jump start in Algebra when the teacher was addressing older students.

Sadly, I never asked my grandmother how she handled teaching to a wide range of ages. She might have questioned my question for that is just how one would teach in a one room school house.

I have always enjoyed the ratios of this building. Especially that gable window. Back when I dreamed of building my own home, my designs seemed quite similar to this building.
