This airplane was inbound to Fullerton Municipal airport when he had some engine troubles. The pilot looked for a place to land and decided that a nice big flat spot at the Brea-Olinda Landfill was his best bet. And he made it down just fine.
Thanks for the tips. We will try to go further by some mode of transportation. Too bad they are trying to make that area off limits to vehicles.(specifically sen Babara Boxer; not to say that she is a bad senator, but very wrong on that proposition) Perhaps mountain bikes next fall if not too cold. Then we will get some pics of the river.

Excellent picture! I grew up in Big Pine, so I know those mountains and that area well. Thanks for bringing back memories for me.
