To Rallen1968 - In 2006 the owners cited "financial instability" as the cause of the shut down. It was also suspected that they had other plans for the property, which is in a prime location. Attendance had been dropping during the last few years they were open. That place is missed by many.

Greetings Nawitka - The town is named after a fall on a nearby creek but I have never seen the fall nor is it one that is wellknown. My wife and I were on a shopping trip in a nearby town and were just passing through when I took the shot.

The pier shown here is actually located about 15 miles north in North Myrtle Beach near Lake Arrowhead Drive.

It was at the end of summer 2007 some special occasion. They were making this for weeks and when it was finished, started raining. So, it wasn't so nice looking anymore and I didn't take a new picture.
