39steps is located in Skopelos Old Town at the junction where the lanes Nirvana/Papaflesa join up and where the lane leads on towards the Kastro. The steps with the establishment above them are on your left after the junction. The fascia of the building faces the Kastro area (the Skopelos Akropolis) whereas one of the flank walls faces the sea and the other the courtyard area.
The house in your photo was built in 1945 - 46.
The historical house was burned down by the Germans in Sep 1944.

These are monuments of the past.The turks ruled here till 1820.When Greece declared its Independence.
Dont forget this is the Principality of Janina ot its Ruler THE ALBANIAN ALI PASHA OF THE CITY OF TEPELENA (Ali Pasha Tepelena).He was the Governor of this Independent Principality ,who opposed the orders of the Turks,and He was beheaded and His head was sent to Istanbul .
