UPDATE: 9.19.2016 What was once a grove of lush green beautiful coconut trees is not a sparse left over of coconut trees that were decimated by the invasive species, the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle. The beetles became widely seen in Guam around 2006, however, it was already almost all over the island. Within 2 years, the invasive species was out of control because biologist are stumped by the fact that the beetle has no known biological control.
