Heaters, large canvas roof and a substantial glass wall. They might as well be sitting inside. What bar owners will do for smokers! "Chav Pens" is a lovely way of describing them.

Saw this today. I agree, the tall block it stands on has too much and badly set out text. It only needed something like "In Memory of the Allied Air Forces 1939 - 1945"

An uncomfortable mixture of original with horrific later changes. That said, still a little gem in the heart of the Royal Marines Barracks Stonehouse Plymouth.

A period piece now sadly well past its time.
