Thanks! I didn't know how to describe the water, but it was so pretty. Lovely swans were swimming there, and it was so peaceful. I did take photos of the mill up the road to left of the river, and will post them soon. I appreciate your input!

A BIT of Bath perhaps. In reality is part of Weston Village that was incorporated into the City in the 1950's and the view is largely of relatively modern development in the area after WW2 althouth the village goes back to Saxon Times at least

It is SAID to have bee a prototype for the Suspension Bridge at Clifton - whatever it IS EARLY of its type. The metal struts and suspension links are CAST Iron and although it currently looks better than in this photo, having had most of the "Shrubbery" removed its a pity that the local authority do not appear to reccognise this little gem for what it is.

You are absolutely right. I did correct this error in my own comments. I changed the title today.... as I didn't notice my error until after it was selected I didn't know if changing the title would do any good.

Nope Still there! It was built rather earlier than 1967 but not sure when. I was due to attend my Wedding Reception there in March 1967 but the place burnt down in late 1966 and was later re built. Previously it wad been a very popular haunt for parties/dinner dances that were "the thing" then. Interestingly it reopened as the Potters Heron was then taken over by a group and became "The Corus" but is happily now The Potters Heron again

This USED to be the most important Shopping Street in Bath - Milsom Street looking noth towards the junction with the London Road. However the "centre" has moved southwards to tghe River and the Former Southgate Centre now (1/09) demolished and due to reopen (partially at least) later this year in re design "faux - palladian" style
