This crossing is E Chatham St. The buildings in the distance are the downtown buildings as viewed from the back, along Seaboard St. When I was 13, I used to lay a penny on these tracks on Saturday morning and then on my way to church Sunday morning, I'd look for my flattened penny down in the rocks.

True, differeces between the Western World and the Russia are quite drastic, especially the cultural ones. I've been to Italia several years ago. We've had a scientific conference in a place called Il Ciocco, which situated in a picturesque little village Castelvecchio Pascoli. It's near Barga in Toscana. It is very beautiful place to visit!

Моя бабка от рождения Пикина Зинаида Ивановна(1912-1995) родилась в Гулынках. Переехав в Москву в начале 30х, она вышла замуж за москвича Кононова Николая. Её муж погиб в 1942 г. под Смоленском. Работала до выхода на пенсию на заводе "Автостекло", что близ Павелецкого вокзала. Её родная сестра Александра Ивановна Титова (Пикина)1925 года рожления, дай Бог ей здоровья, живёт до сих пор в Гулынках. На фотографии её дом. Фотография середины июля 2004 года. Фамилия Житковых звучит очень и очень знакомо. В детстве я много раз летом гостил у Титовых и определённо слышал о Житковых.
