Hey Backraod ADV and pyropeteg, do either of you recall a store/restaurant/gas pump along 12 between the Lowell, ID area and Missoula? I road this stretch of US12 in the summer of 04 and we're planning another trip through here this June. I recall this place being the only gas for at least 100 miles out there. If either of you recall this place or know the approx. mileage from either end I'd appreciate it!! Thanks! David

bazant,

I was haing a drink at the bar there when a group of people were walking away from the Lady Christina. Since I had motorcycled up, I asked them, "Where do you keep the Harley"?

That only led to some dumb looks.

Your right quite James Bond. There are lots of pics of the Lady Christina from all over the world on the web-especially "The Med".

This place is not on the beaten path but is well worth visiting. Bring a kayak or a canoe. Fishing is good in late spring. You can access the lake via 100 Mile House (but expect alot of log trucks) or by going up towards Williams Lake (the road is paved to Horsefly. Either route is hours of gravel road with nice pot holes. Had to replace two tires on the car during this trip. Also a thunderstorm blew away and damaged the cook tent.

I took the Odell excursion on the Mt Hood Railroad. On the north side of the tracks was a very unique home with a poolside view of the railway line.

The town's location, Grainville, sort of says it all. I ran into this region after visiting Yellowstone Park. To the east was a stormy view of the Tetons only the bases of the mountains were visible on this blustry day.
