I live in a tropical Island Paradise...GUAM, Where America's Day Begins. It is awe-inspiring to view millions of beautiful photos from around our planet Earth by hundreds of thousands of professional photographers, photo journalists, photography enthusiasts, and amateurs (like me), as well. It's a humbling experience to be in the company of these fine folks, who motivate, educate and enhance my drive to be a better photographer. What's especially pleasing is when I view my photos via my media and discover minute details I was not aware was there when I 'captured that shot'. Since posting on this site over 6 years ago, my photos have been used (by permission) in textbooks, travel and other online sites, school projects, and even war memorabilia - who knew... I hope you enjoy my photos.

fita-sarmiento-rober…'s conversations

Low-lying stratus clouds over-powered by puffy cumulus cotton fluff greet the calm, smooth, glassy waters just after sunrise at Alupang Cove at Hagatna Bay, Guam. A grove of coconut trees say hello to incoming gentle waves just beginning to wake up, coming in to the reef. This is about the same area where the photo was taken for the USPS postage stamp released about a year ago, honoring GUAM. Guam is Beautiful!

Can you get any closer than this ... without really landing??? This is one of the most-common-taken-for-granted sights on Guam. JAL afternoon flight approaching the Guam International Air Terminal runway, Tiyan/Barrigada, Guam. Believe it or not, residents really live in those quarters..

One of many fast moving rivers from waters off the southern mountains rushing towards twin outlets Cetti & Sella Bay, Guam. Photo was taken at the Cetti Bay Overlook edge while sunset was approaching, so built-in flash & zoom features were used to help me out. For me, the results were AMAZING!!!

This is Camel Rock, easily identifiable as named, from certain views. Photo was taken on 2/04/09 directly in front of Camel Rock at the War in the Pacific Memorial Park, Asan, Guam. The actual weather at the time was clear & sunny but the ocean was particularly threatening, as shown whipping the Rock during a Hazardous Surf Warning due to inclement weather fronts coming down from Japan & Alaska regions. Shortly after I took several photos, the tide & surf kept coming towards us into the green park area, bringing with it alot of rocks, sand & debris, so that we thought it best to leave the area.
