We visited Cape Beale in the 90's and our last visit there was in 2003. Norbie Brand and his wife, Kathi are still the current senior lighthouse keepers (Norbie has been the keeper of the light at Cape Beale for 30 years). As far as I know, the assistant lightkeeper at Cape Beale is still Ivan Dubinsky. It is one of the few remaining manned lighthouses on BC's west coast. Since our last visit, the engine room has been moved down to the dock (so it's even more peaceful up the hill by the light) and it now has an automated foghorn. Wonderful times, wonderful place.
