I live in County Durham, UK. I am an amateur photographer and particularly like taking panoramas (using software to stitch photos). I also like photographing unusual cloud formations and night/sunset scenes.
I am the writer of a number of informational-adventure books for young people (www.wallaceboys.com) and one of my stories is set on Kerguelen; and part of the action takes place in the Crique du sac à plomb. For some of my research, I used Edgar Aubert de la Rüe's book 'Two years on the Islands of Desolation'; a wonderful book, but it took me a long while to read it with a French-English Dictionary by my side the whole time!
I would like to have your permission to use your fantastic photo of the Crique du sac à plomb. I shall, of course, make an acknowledgement using any wording you prefer.
Yours sincerely and looking forward to hearing from you, Duncan Watt (wallaceboys@hotmail.co.uk)
PS I apologise for sending this in a 'forum' but I couldn't find another way!
