The writer of Detective Conan, Mr. Aoyama was born in this town called Yura. His cartoon is well known worldwide, and all his works are on public view in this museum. There are five bronze statues right in front of the entrance. They look like the original character very much.
There are a lot of cherry trees along the river named Fukurogawa for about 2 miles. Fukurogawa is the most popular cherry blossom viewing spot in Tottori City. In a couple of weeks during spring, we can deeply appreciate the beauty of cherry blossoms while taking a walk or having a blossom-viewing party under the trees. Generally the blossoms are finally blown off like it's snowing hard. But one day the wind didn't blow at all, and the blossoms were gently falling off from the trees to the ground throughout that night. Early in the next morning, I found the sidewalk was covered with pink petals. I enjoyed taking a walk on the pink carpet of the petals under the trees. It was almost like a dream !
