Panoramio's recommendation is to mark the position where the photo was taken and not of the subject being photographed. Where the marker is positioned is where I stood at the time the photograph was taken.

The meteor can be seen some 200 yds from the marked spot.

The location of the photo was disputed at 22/May/2008. Keeping the original position because Panoramio suggests to mark the spot where the photo was taken from and not the location of the subject photographed.

The reason the picture of the tram station is positioned from Oldham Road is because Google suggests that the recommended location is where the photo was taken and not where the entity is. As of the time the photo is placed the area on Google Earth is shown as undeveloped.
