Milo, thanks, C-ville, Ablemarle, Fluvanna are a great area for photos: lots of layered architecture, nature, geographic sightlines; for instance your Mennonite Church frame. I get to visit because of friends in the area who offer an open invitation to flop. They also are in love with the Pleasant Grove park and Palmyra. Hence, we're out there walking trails nearly every time I'm passing through.

I was just at this location this morning. My girlfriend and I took her dogs for a walk on the Fluvana Heritage Trail.

Very nice picture CMCarroll. This almost looks like my cat warming himself on the railing!

Not from the 40's, my dad was the music critic for the Evening Independent during its last years. I could refer you to the few of those folks still in the area and alive. There are a number of unrelated Carrolls in the local area. One fellow in particular was two years ahead of me throughout my public school period. It was another twenty years before we met.

Good Afternoon,
Just saw your photo while looking at aerial images of Farragut St. Pk. I assume you took this shot in '67 while there for World Jamboree or '69 or '73 National Jamborees? I was there in '67, while also completing National Camp School nearby at Camp Cowles, with Bill Hillcourt as course director. We pass through this area once or twice each year as we travel between our home outside Seattle and our favorite place -- Yellowstone ecosystem. Still registered Scouter, with 57 years service. Planning to staff '10 Jamboree in Virginia.
Thanks, Bob LaBouy

These shots were made in Spring, 1977. A friend recommended DHP as a side trip. It was a pre-GPS time and our road map was a pencil sketch. When I went to post them as .jpg's, I queried Google Maps for "Dead Horse Point, UT". The location it returned was the elevation near Thermo. Last month, relocation was suggested and I found the "real" DHP LAT-LONG. I moved the shots. However, their location in GE/GM hasn't updated.
