I saw this site for several months while stationed at a radar site that was where the dome is now. This will always be my home in my heart. You can leave Okinawa but Okinawa will always live in your heart.
To walk along these banks and breathe the salt air and enjoy the beauty of Okinawas blue sky is pure heaven.
Very pretty island but more grown up and modern than when I was there in 1969.
What a beautiful sight. It looks the same as when I was there in 1969.
I saw this view many times while stationed on top of mount Yaedake during 1969. We had a radar site called site 18 there. We were part of the 30th Artillery Brigade.
I lived on Mount Yaedake from 1969 until 1970 and walked on this platform! I think. I have a daughter somewhere below this mountain that has never seen me.Sad to say things happen when you are a young army man.I saw many sunsets from here.Beautiful beyond description.
Walked along this beach and it is so beautiful.
I was stationed near Toguchi Okinawa from 1969-70. It was beautiful! I have a daughter that was born there and she has never seen me. One day I hope to go find her.Lewis Parker from Anderson,South Carolina USA.
