Hello Tom

I've read the article you gave me a link to. Interesting and packed with information. (filters, exposure consideration, HDR SW, manual blending with Photoshop during postprocessing...) At least it gave me an idea how to use gradient filters not mounted on the camera.

I miss here short note about making HDR from single RAW file instead of exposure bracketing (this is my case - I am not equiped with a tripod yet, I don't want take too much gear with me on bicycle trips and expeditions). I think this technique is only possibility how to make HDR when object is moving.

Illustrations used in article are impressive, but bit "over the edge", hard HDR for me. Good for fantasy books - world on its own, with own aesthetic rules. Something is telling me the photo is more in this case then reality. Now I prefere when "beauty" does not stick up so pointedly from picture... just my personal preference.

If you like, you can look at gallery of my favourite photographer Jiri Novacek. I met him in New Zealand in Castle Hill area. He almost hates HDR, but his photos are great for me.

Cheers Tom

If you are lucky to have a teenager at hand ... if not, you have to use check lists as in aviation! LOL

BTW, a great photo - reminding me of the 1983 Genesis track Home by the Sea, you could post it in the forum game A song ... a picture! Cheers, Ralf
