Chris Charabaruk's conversations

I used to live on the edge of the valley, and could walk or bike into it via Twyn Rivers Drive pretty much any time I wanted. I miss it, but the Duffins Creek valley is incredible in its own way.

Took this on August 2, 2008. Me, my brother, and one of my uncles went back there to break it down, seems it needs to be done two or three times a year now. Since we're so close to the path leading back there, I tend to go back there every time I visit the cottage.

I take it you've been back there already this year. Have you seen their new, second dam?

BTW, I have a bunch more pics including us working on the dam over on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/coldacid/sets/72157611199419984/

Duffins Creek flows lazily by, underneath some power lines.

All that remains of a building along Duffins Creek is the chimney and fireplace, now scarred with graffiti.

I was driving west down the 401 late October, right on the side of the road... I mean, on the grass at 43.799652, -79.142842 is where the dear was! It was so great to see up close. I hope she was fine after the snack.

I have seen some of the most violent thunderstorms coming across Loon Call lake. My family built the cottage on Lot 34 and the view from the front window was spectacular. This picture reminds me of the canoe rides with my parents after the storms.

I know this path. I've walked and biked along it many times back when I lived on Woodview Ave.

The one on the right was originally at Altona Rd. at Sheppard Rd. in Pickering.
