Maui Legend: At the beginning of world war II, two Maui brothers were going off to war. They swam to Alua island and each planted a coconut tree at the top so if they never returned their parents could look at the top and watch the two coconut trees growing tall and strong just like they would have. Happy Ending: They both returned. The grove of coconut trees today is the off spring of their two coconuts.
