Neil Grimwood~~~~Yes Neil ironic and prophetical...Not as bad as 1953, but this comes a close second..The town was flooded by several feet of sea water on both banks, causing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage to waterfront businesses. Several vehicles were lost to the sea. The town was blacked out due to power outages and I smelt escaping gas nearby..The emergency services, normally a highly polished set-up were caught napping and when they sprang into action it was more headless chicken and "don't panic, don't panic", talk about farcical and over-kill!
I took a few photos to record the event..As for the breaking seas, well it was just too stormy down the pier and bitterly cold..not good for an OAP with a weak bladder, I scarpered back home for a hot-shot and a pee! The night is as still as can be!
