Just returned from Lake Mavis - what an awesome place! Camped where you did and heard kiwis close by in the night - had no idea they went so high. Pity we had no snow.

I enjoyed your 2 'typical day' photos. My brother travelled to NZ a few years back and sent me pics of the Milford Track. I think he really enjoyed his stay there, I just live vicariously through him and great photographers like yourself. Thanks for your insight..

I live here too, can't wait to move. Lived here 8 long years now, every one a bad one, what with flooding and thugs. I don't live on this street but not to far away.:(

This shot was rather hard to take. I had to kneel in a bog and hold my camera out beyond some reeds and position it just above the water surface. I couldn't see what I was taking so took about 3 pics of which this was the best.

That is a beautiful shot you took; it's probably the only time of the day when the birds are relatively quiet!
