The Quba Mosque: مسجد قباء Medina, is the first mosque ever built in HIJAZ and the oldest mosque of HIJAZ. Its first stones were positioned by the prophet Muhammad on his emigration from the city of Mecca to Medina and the mosque was completed by his companions. Muhammad spent more than 20 nights in this mosque (after migrating) praying qasr (a short prayer) while waiting for Ali whose house was behind this mosque.

ARAFET; is a granite hill east of Mecca. It is also known as the Mount of Mercy (Jabal ar-Rahmah). The hill is the place Muslims believe the Islamic prophet Muhammad delivered the Farewell Sermon to the Muslims who had accompanied him for the Hajj towards the end of his life. It reaches about 70 m in height.

ARAFET; The term Mount Arafat is sometimes applied to this entire area. It is an important place in Islam because during the Hajj, pilgrims spend the afternoon there on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah (ذو الحجة). Failure to be present in the plain of Arafat on the required day invalidates the pilgrimage. Many pilgrims stay here all night in vigil.

PHOTO.K.C Hello there. First things first, thank you for stopping by my brief profile. I emigrated with my family from the Middle East in the early 70's. As a young boy my first hobby was photography. This would become a lifelong passion. My first camera was a Nikkormat FT with a 50mm f1.4 lens. I also worked with large 4x5 format. I studied photography at the School of Graphic Art, Sydney. Worked as a Technical Assistant Photographer for NPWS & various news publishing companies. I served with First/Nineteen Battalion ROYAL N.S.W Infantry. I am just another ambitious photographer. For me, photography means stopping and preserving time for a split second. Capturing the beautiful, and sometimes the ugly moments of life, is all part of my work. These aren't just photos, but moments in my life. I was inspired to get involved in photography by my uncle who would use creative methods in photographing my family that animated the traditional family photo. The challenge to capture the fleeting moment was what I enjoyed the most. Being able to share those special moments with others is a bonus. I want everyone who looks at my photographs to know that your enjoyment is my goal. I appreciate all your comments, and am glad to bring some small vision of places special to my heart to you.
