Thanks for that, its amazing how virtually every field and hill has or had a name!
Nice photo but a hideous piece of 'urban art'!
Ta Cameron, some monster icicles up near the Chinese Gardens in the streams and waterfall
700mm lens, 100th F11. Don't zoom in, it's not that good!
No problem, I was flying the plane at the same time which makes it a bit more special! We went walking today, pretty arctic but some huge icicles in the gardens woods.
The farmhouse nearby, Wilcocks has a datestone of 1670 so this may be at least as old?
Thanks for the comments, I find with very popular sites the only way to get a different 'feel' to the place is to go for unusual or distant viewpoints others would never think of!
I'd like to add photos to your new website but reading up on Wordpress it seems to be a web content creator for personal or other websites. I can't afford my own website and think it would be a pain of a process to quickly add content, compared to Panoramio / Google Earth. I'll certainly read the walks section as we walk up there every Sat and Sun,
Good luck with the site
Strange, I've been flying there for the last 15 years and never knew your group was there. I thought I could see hills in the background of the photo, thats what made me wonder if it was Barton or not!
Thanks, its hard to get new angles of such a well photographed area!
