Armando A's conversations
Thank you so much for the memories, this photo really takes me back to the good old days....I was only 11, but I remember how wonderful the Worlds Fair was...now I go to Epcot and pretend its the good old days without the good ole prices!

Shea Stadium until 2008 has been a historical and architectural part of Queens, New York. Former home of the New York Mets National League baseball team, Shea Stadium was named after William Alfred "Bill" Shea, founder of the former Continental League. William Shea and the Continental League was responsible for the creation of the National League and bringing baseball back to NYC. Up until 1983 Shea Stadium was also home to the NY Jets footbal team. The last baseball game was played in this stadium in September 28, 2008 (the time this photograph was taken, illuminating the evening sky), after which, in January 2009 was demolished and replaced by the adjacent Citi Field stadium, opening in Spring 2009, and the current home of the NY Mets.
