Hiya! I'm from the greater Los Angeles area. I'm fortunate to have been able to travel a great deal in my young life, and to see such interesting places.

What you have to realize about this picture is that, by my estimate, this shadow is about 18 miles wide. When you see the mountain cast a 18-mile-wide shadow, you realize the sheer prominence of the peak.
