Ha Carsten, I also didn't make an account in Flickr myself. It doesn't appeal very much to me, although the possibilities are much more than those of Panoramio. I cannot exactly tell why. Maybe the fact that it has so many users who are not really interested in photography itself but merely in establishing their own existence or manifesting themselves, their families and their pets. Panoramio is much simpler and was built firstly as a means for geo tagging photos in Google Maps and Google Earth, and secondly as a means to share photos. For Flickr, the opposite counts.

Hi Erik, I didn't use this picture before because I thought the back parts of the handrails are not working and I didn't want to blur them or manipulate them in some way. So I decided to force the contrast and add a third colour. Right now I don't know anymore wich version is better and so you are right it works in colour as well. I never tried out to use structure in colour pictures before. I always want to have them in B/W. When we have more light (in Spring - far away) I am going to try out more structure in colour. But I still use the advantage of taking a colour picture because I can transform it in any way into a B/W using channel combinations in every way. What would you do with a handrail like this one. You know now the light situation.

Hi Erik, when I saw the fence I thought it has a cool grey but a great structure. It was very well seen in front of the stones of the tower. But I had B/W in mind. I used this picture because of the colour and the sharp edge of the handrail. Maybe I was attached by the colour. Very strange. After I read the comment by May I was thinking That I saw the picture in a different way. I wanted to have a more 3 dimindional look. But she is right about about the tones of the picture. Erik, I didn't expect anything in colour on a cloudy day.

You can find these typical roofs everywhere in south-west France and especially in the Provence. The number of rows of génoises was synonymous with ones wealth... at least in former times.
