yes, the lakes are wonderful!
Hi Erik, this is the strangest connection you can ever think of. I didn't notice that. I saw your picture and title and was browsing through my pictures in their directories. Always checking if someone is allreday placing something else. Just cropping and doing something with the picture and than uploading in a hurry. After uploading I was not sure anymore if the picture is not killing the chain. So I was glad after noticing Johns Picture.
Thanks for the information Pam! :) I'll check things out. Wide open space was used metaphorically in the song, as I saw in the clip.
Hi Erik, it is a great photo. Full of things to think of. And it is scary. Nailed to the ground. Half covered. Lost and overseen. Very good. And a good combination of B/W and colour. I like the tags in the chain. They are placed with more thoughts I think. And in my case I try to use just two.
Erik, I thought, he was born in a stable, so I don't think he would have objected to stay in a simple barn for a rest! :) May
Thank you, John! It's from one of my hiking tours! May
Hi Carsten, I see what you mean. Maybe indeed we have to place the comment "For instructions how to use Photo chain click on the first picture" from time to time.
Thank you Carsten! I don't think, there is a difference, taking a photo out of the window or anywhere else, as long, as there is a feeling of creativity. I am very happy, that you like my photo. And thank you very much for your good wishes! I have made a big pot of tea and hope to get rid of the cold soon.
Liebe Grüsse, May
Ha Carsten, I also didn't make an account in Flickr myself. It doesn't appeal very much to me, although the possibilities are much more than those of Panoramio. I cannot exactly tell why. Maybe the fact that it has so many users who are not really interested in photography itself but merely in establishing their own existence or manifesting themselves, their families and their pets. Panoramio is much simpler and was built firstly as a means for geo tagging photos in Google Maps and Google Earth, and secondly as a means to share photos. For Flickr, the opposite counts.
Please see my comment to John about the Photo Chain. Hope you want to join!
Hi Erik, I didn't use this picture before because I thought the back parts of the handrails are not working and I didn't want to blur them or manipulate them in some way. So I decided to force the contrast and add a third colour. Right now I don't know anymore wich version is better and so you are right it works in colour as well. I never tried out to use structure in colour pictures before. I always want to have them in B/W. When we have more light (in Spring - far away) I am going to try out more structure in colour. But I still use the advantage of taking a colour picture because I can transform it in any way into a B/W using channel combinations in every way. What would you do with a handrail like this one. You know now the light situation.
BTW picture chain is cool
Hi Erik, when I saw the fence I thought it has a cool grey but a great structure. It was very well seen in front of the stones of the tower. But I had B/W in mind. I used this picture because of the colour and the sharp edge of the handrail. Maybe I was attached by the colour. Very strange. After I read the comment by May I was thinking That I saw the picture in a different way. I wanted to have a more 3 dimindional look. But she is right about about the tones of the picture. Erik, I didn't expect anything in colour on a cloudy day.
