CarlStaffanHolmer's conversations

CarlStaffanHolmer said:

I am grateful for the correction request received, because I only remember the road, direction, and what time of day it was. This tractor driver kept the right lane, in contrast to the driver of a similar tractor on Leninski Prospect in the center of Moscow. He occupied the fast lane of the ten lane wide avenue during rush hour!

I have accepted a suggestion to move the picture almost a mile to the north. We had left the shop for building materials and tools on the street corner right behind us. On this local road beside the motorway where the police van is parked we passed the "quick exit" on our way to the recently finished traffic apparatus that looks so strange on GE, to enter the south going motorway and thouroghly following all traffic regulations, including the speed limit set to I think, 70 km/h. We got the policemen's silent approval anyway! :-)

I have got a suggestion to move this picture to the junction of Queen Street - Beer Road. I don't want to do that yet though, because I'm still not convinced I was wrong! :-)

Sten, It is marvellous! We even met twice, first when we passed you by car on the avenue: Your dog was so happy and came running from the field that I felt it was best to slow down in case he forgot to stop before the road. :-) Then when Henrik jumped right into the pile of leaves in the ditch, without a thought about what might be covered by the leaves, water or some scrap. :-) Happy dogs and boys are pretty much the same! Who could imagine that we should meet like this? Next time I will be more attentive! Kind regards Staffan and Henrik. PS. I will suggest a slight change for your picture, according to Panoramio procedures. DS

AD, You have really found something here! A creation by Roland Haeberlein in 1987. Let me present a free translation of the inscription on the plaque in the foundation. I can't really explain the meaning, but I like it! "This years most stupid idea deserves to be compared with previously years asshole". :-) Kind regards Carl

Congratulations Klaus, for this excellent picture! I did not myself, despite being on this very spot, discover the beautiful angle of your picture. Guess I was more occupied with thoughts about how people managed to park their cars in this extremely steep street. Greetings from the photographer next street. CarlStaffanHolmer

Tears in my eyes, this was my local pub from 1994 to 1997.I lived down the road with my family in 3 Manor Cottages. At this time Mr Brian Lee was the landlord. I was a Norwegian having a great time in UK, and particulary in Little Marlow. May the Pub last for ever.
