Not much has changed since this picture was taken in 1958 (age 12). Back then I took pictures of anything that caught my interest. After a 50+ year hiatus, semi-retirement has allowed me to pick up a camera again (no, not the same one). I still take pictures of anything that strikes my fancy. My partner and I escaped from Manhattan to the Catskill Mountains about 15 years ago. I've seen a bit of the world and a lot of the United States and, for me, this region has it all; abundant hiking trails, wildlife, excellent fishing and good people. We are also close enough to New England for many weekend getaways. Life is good. dave hermon

Greetings Iflbo, Thanks for the visit and the comment. I am glad you are interested in the old war birds. There are not many of them left if flying condition. It is heart warming to see them go by in the sky. It is a challenge to get enough light on them to get a night photograph. Sometimes I have success. Glad you liked this shot. Take care and have a great day. Cheers, Rich

Greetings J-ryu, Thanks for the visit and the comment. Longs Peak is the highest point in the park and is the sentinel looking over its well being. It seems you can always see Longs no matter where you go. The forest on the East side has had some damage from beetle kill, but with so many varieties of trees the effects are not as noticeable as on the west side where devastation was complete, the entire forest gone. But now a new forest grows, so nature knows what she is doing for the good of the land. Take care. Cheers, Rich

Greetings J-ryu, Thanks for the visit and the comments. Very interesting. I thought it was nice that I was seeing the moon set over the same mountain as I had on an earlier trip. On that trip it was still dark and the moon created a silhouette of the mountain top and trees. The gentleman who was next to me at the lake thought it was a good idea that I was shooting the moon as it set. I was lucky to get the detail on the moon's surface. Thanks for the visit. Take care and have a great day. Cheers, Rich

Greetings J-ryu, Thanks for the visit and the comments. Sometimes you have the clear blue sky and other times there will be an overcast. Not to often are there beautiful cumulus clouds in the morning sky up there. But when the leaves are turning, it is always beautiful no matter what kind of sky there is. Cheers, Rich
