This is Bomi Hills (Lofa County) near Konia. It is a village that is named for the original Bomi Hills in western Liberia where the man came from who started this little village.
Hard to imagine that this was, for many Africans, the last sight they saw of their homeland as they boarded Dutch, Spanish, and British ships for Slavery. King Gray was the African tribal chief who sold them to the Europeans.
WOW! I lived in this house from 1987-1989. It was a hostel for students attending ELWA Academy or West African Christian High School whose parents lived out of the commutable area. The students were from Scotland Europe, Oregon USA and Washington USA. There were between 6-8 students at a time living here. Great Memories!
