I couldnt agree less even though it is preferable to be there and see it in person. Plenty of photographs have splendid views in them, they are usually the reason for taking the photograph in the first place, that or if there is something unusual or 'special'. No matter, panoramio is mainly for 'photographing the world' not just the pretty parts.

as for the marker i would say it seems more or less accurate given that it is between the main terminal and the satellite.
In my picture just below the oval grass island (in front of the 747) is another one with a kink in it (you can see this on google maps if you zoom in)with this in mind it cannot be 50m too far to the west
A shame indeed but insurance issues being what they are today a photographer would have to get the permission of any children/people included and that's too much like hard work!

Its a grand enough view for my eyes. Fantastic clouds. I appreciate the effort that goes into stitching pictures together like this, really nice work.
I took the liberty of glancing at the gallery of Geoff_Lee after reading his comment here, I was less than impressed
it's misplaced on google earth for some reason, I get it on the Canary Islands..
Sadly the irony will be lost on most folks. I hope you still managed to enjoy the holiday.
