This Photo is tagged "Saturn V."
LC-34 was never designed to handle Saturn Vs, it was Designed to launch the Saturn IB rocket. The Saturn IB was significantly smaller and lighter than the massive Saturn V. LC-39 was the Saturn V launch facility. The V was about twice as large and weighed almost 6 times as much as the IB. It would not be able to be launched from this facility. Don't mean to be a jerk, just nerding! :)

Wonderful place! So colorful.
T IS IMPORTANT TO RECALL THAT NO SATURN V EVER LIFTED OFF FROM LAUNCH COMPLEX 34. THE ROCKET INTENDED TO LAUNCH THE LATE APOLLO 1 CREW ("GUS" GRISSOM, ROGER CHAFFEE AND ED WHITE) WAS AN OLDER AND SMALLER ROCKET, THE SATURN IB; THE SAME KIND THAT - ONE AND A HALF YEAR LATER - LAUNCHED APOLLO 7 FROM THE SAME LAUNCH COMPLEX AS THE FIRST MANNED APOLLO MISSION TO LOW EARTH ORBIT TO PERFORM APOLLO 1 ABORTED MISSION.
ALL SATURN V ROCKETS WERE LAUNCHED FROM LAUNCH COMPLEX 39 WITH ITS TWO PADS: 39A AND 39B, LOCATED NORTHERN LAUNCH COMPLEX 34, CONNECTED VIA ROAD TO THE V.A.B. (VEHICLE ASSEMBLY BUILDING. WATCH ABOUT 10 Km NORTHERN FROM L.C.34). THE MASSIVE SATURN V WOULD HAVE CRUSHED LC 34 IF ERECTED ON IT.
THE NEW ROCKET (SATURN V) NEEDED AN ALL-NEW LAUNCH SYSTEM BASED IN A CRAWLER TRANSPORTER ABLE TO CONVEY THE SATURN V FROM ITS ASSEMBLY SITE TO THE GARGANTUAN LAUNCH SITE. AFTER APOLLO MOON RACE, LAUNCH COMPLEX 39 WAS ADAPTED TO LAUNCH SKYLAB, SATURNS 1B FOR SKYLAB CREWS, SATURN IB FOR APOLLO-SOYUZ MISSION AND THEN THE ENTIRE SERIES OF SPACE SHUTTLE MISSIONS, BECOMING THE MANNED MISSIONS LAUNCH SITE.
NOWADAYS, AFTER SPACE SHUTTLE, IT IS IN PROCESS OF ADAPTATION TO THE NEXT GENERATION SPACE VEHICLES, e.g. THE FUTURE SPACE LAUNCH SYSTEM (S.L.S.)INTENDED TO LAUNCH THE ORION CAPSULE, AFTER DEGRADATION OF CONSTELLATION PROGRAM.-
Yes, nice meandering river. I also have taken pictures from the air while approaching Helsinki.
