LC-34 was never designed to handle Saturn Vs, it was Designed to launch the Saturn IB rocket. The Saturn IB was significantly smaller and lighter than the massive Saturn V. LC-39 was the Saturn V launch facility. The V was about twice as large and weighed almost 6 times as much as the IB. It would not be able to be launched from this facility. Don't mean to be a jerk, just nerding! :)
