Well spotted! This river crossing was originally served by a wooden constructed bridge. Due to weathering, wear and tear etc, this wooden bridge was replaced by a formed concrete span bridge. You will notice that I have enclosed the name in apostrophes therefore alluding to the fact that this bridge pictured is nostalgically known as 'The Wooden Bridge', but those who are not nostalgic or not aware of its history refer to it as 'The Concrete Bridge'

On a climb up from Iniscarn Forest and up the slopes of Slieve Gallon one frosty November morning, me and my brother had a 'quare' view of the blanket fog that covered the locality that morning once we cleared the tree line of the forest. What would normally be seen is Moneymore and out on the horizon Lough Neagh and on a good day the Mournes.
