Started professional life in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1976. Mostly worked as an assistant and had a small number of commercial clients. Moved to San Diego, California in 1979 and soon started working at a major hotel, working for visiting groups meeting there and billing through their master account. During that time worked for a mail-order photo lab first as a custom color printer and then as lab manager and finally as owner. Owned and operated Artistic Photo Lab and worked as a commercial photographer specializing in aerial and industrial photography until 1998 when the lab was sold and left San Diego to join OM Ships as the photographer on M.V. Doulos. Later worked on the ship M.V. Logos II and finally the M.V. Logos Hope. Now living in Holland, Michigan and working on a semi-retired basis on various personal projects.
