Locally this is known as the 'Robin Hood Tree' in 'Sycamore Gap'. The walls on sides leading down into the gap are part of the World Heritage 'Hadrian's Wall' that runs between Carlisle and Newcastle. The stone construction in front was built by the makers of the film 'Robin Hood. Prince of Thieves' which starred Kevin Kostner having used used this location for one of the scenes in the film. This just records the event.
