I worked in both mills back in the 70s when they were in full production for the USA goverment. The mill on the right made mostly sleeping bags for our Troops in Vietnam war and the one on the left made portable hospital tent. (MASH) North Adams had plenty of work with mills like these and Sprague. I loved those days

Juniper Campground IS a great observation point, but actually it's located RIGHT AT THE HAIRPIN TURN about 1/2 mile west of the point you indicate on the GOOGLE MAP. I've camped there numerous times. It is also beutiful with snow at times in the winter.. Greg nearby resident> gmurphy20@comcast.net

Behind these barns is the trailhead for trails that lead up the mountain. The Fall has the Greylock Ramble event which starts from here and is very popular.

2009- This was once the site of ANthony's Pond which was a popular swimming pool for children in the 1950's and 1960's until it closed and was over-run by nature. It is now fully covered by plants and filled in.

2009- The old 'Polish Church' has spectacular artwork inside, and stained-glass windows throughout. Saint Stanislaus (Saint Stans) was closed by the Archdiocese in 2008, but is still open through the efforts of a vigil maintained by loyal parishoners.
