I remember as a kid in the 70's when my mother worked with John Newcomer in his antique shop out of this house. I'm glad that it has been preserved.
Whidbey Inn is described in Fodor's Pacific Northwest Guide as 'a long, two-storey, madrona lodge on a wooded promontory'.
Why post this I live out in this area the orcas never swim like this, or get this close to the shore its not deep enough. and the Orca with the Dorsal fin just above the closest orca is backwards. Not saying Orcas greys even humpbacks don't go past this point but not like this.
Always enjoy seeing this piece of history that is covered in the National Park Service's Historic American Buildings Survey. I remember when it was not quite so well kept.
My family lived in this house my senior year of high school. When my family moved I came back a few years later and rented this house. I was the last resident to live here before it was torn down. It is surreal to see these photos.
