Just a clarification: the Doctors Geggie (Harold--founder of the hospital, and sons Hans, David and Stuart--my father) did not actually live in this building. Harold purchased it from the former owner and donated it to the community as a home for the new Gatineau Memorial Hospital in 1952.

I, too, was born in the delivery room, upstairs. My father delivered me!

Tankers 57 and 58, both Douglas DC-4s (C-54 Skymasters), plus one of Buffalo Airways' CL-215s. Buffalo Airways' fleet also includes a pair of Curtiss C-46 Commandos, a half-dozen Douglas DC-3s, another half-dozen Douglas DC-4s and a Lockheed L-188 Electra, besides an assortment of small twins (Beech 55, 90, 95) and high-wing singles (eg. Norseman).

Nice picture, with some interesting background information. The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre has a couple of photos online of Yellowknife's first firetruck being off-loaded from this aircraft.
