This 3-dimensional collage is based on a curtain remnant to which I center-stitched more leaves. Stems and blossoms were embroidered and added. Final touches are stump-work butterfly, dragon fly and beetle.

Vera Louise's conversations

Wow. So amazing capture.

YSL Greetings from Greece, Theodosios.

Hello Eddy

It's very nice to receive comments from Arnhem as it was sad to leave Brouwerijweg 88 to board the "Fairsea" ( in September 1952) ... it was such a cosy place in Winter although my favourite seasons were Spring and Autumn. There were always delicious aromas from the bakery!! Regards, Vera

For anyone interested in a non-military account of WWII in the Netherlands, I recommend "The Occupied Garden" written by the granddaughters of the main characters who, like most of the affected, didn't like to talk about the war very much, if at all. Probably true to the saying "You can't leave it behind if you take it with you." Try ordering from: biblioz.com ... ISBN 978-0-312-56157-4.

Love this photo and the one of the Strangler Fig.

This is my outlet, Panoramio. That's enough for me. Anything more serious and it will stop being a hobby. I'm fearful of entering the world of profit and competition, it would take all the fun and relaxation away.

My mother was one of them that cried, I distinctly remember that. Our father had left for Melbourne to find permanent accommodation and commence his pre-arranged work. Having to sit at night in that barren shack alone with us kids was not what my mother had envisaged. Luckily we only stayed for a month or so. I was too young to fully comprehend the situation we were in, I saw it more as an adventure and yearned to climb that brown hill we looked out on.

This design would be the easiest to use for mosaic tiles as the colours are basic: black, white, green, blue, pink and yellow. I can imagine it on a far wall at the end of a long room or swimming pool. Of course the design can be done in only two colours thus giving viewers something to puzzle over.

Most items weren't available during the occupation including film thus the low quality of the images on film that was years old.

I see you have touch of artistry. A nicely composed shot.

Greetings, Paul
