As a young child my maternal grandfather use to take me for walks in this very park, the wonderful memory still lingers. It is my greatest wish to see Trinidad one more time before I die for this was a magical place where time had stood still and the colonial times lingered. My granfather's name was Francisco (Paco) Garcia Pena and my grandmother was Manuela Suarez. Our home used to be in a street called Jesus Maria, I do not recall the house number. Should someone out there recognize our family name my e-mail is tesscalcines@yahoo.com I would love to hear from you!!!

long ago before Castro took over this was my loving home which I shared with my parents and paternal grandparents, the address is Padre valencia 159 if Im not mistaken, imagine my sadness after seeing what was once my beloved home turned into a ruin. The last time I saw my home was in 1967 and it was also the last time I saw my paternal grandfather Antonio Calcines, he just could not take it and passed away, my mother and I had to leave first because my father was not permitted to depart with us, my grandmother Clotilde Calcines and my father Carlos Calcines later joined us in Miami 3 years later. I have photos of me as a young child in that very balcony and I can describe the house inside as if was yesterday. I thank whoever took that photo for the bittersweet memories and can't help but to wonder who is there now.........
