There is a plaque on this Obelisk. It reads:

In memory of the men of Royton who gave their lives for their country in the two world wars. (1914 - 1918 / 1939 - 1945) THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE

An amazing Beach. Even though it is sheltered from the offshore reef, 4/6 ft waves suddenly rise then drop; great fun to get in and get thrown about.
