I live in the County of Kent, UK, which is often referred to as the Garden of England. I am now retired, so have more time to spend on my lifelong interest in photography. It started on my 12th birthday with a brand new 120 roll film camera, with one shutter speed and two apertures!!. Since then I have had several 35mm and medium format cameras. Now digital, using Nikon and Fuji cameras. Regards John.

John Goodwin.'s conversations

Hi John, this is now disused. the basin was used to process lime from the stones that were mined from the hills. the bridge was used to walk the horse's from one side of the canal to the other to pull the barge's. the stones were shifted in man-handled wagons along tracks down from the hills. type in "Buxworth Basin Derbyshire" to get the full history, you will find it interesting. cheers for LIKE. kind regards, Bill.
