During excavation of this area there were numerous skeletons discovered of individuals who were killed in the earthquake that destroyed the city. Included were those of a family consisting of a Father, Mother and Baby all huddled together. The July 1988 edition of National Geographic details the discoveries of this site in the article -The day the world ended at Kourion

I always liked the bluish glow behind the buildings. It reminded me of a forest horror movie, so one night when getting back from work I brought the camera out, set it on the trash can and got the picture.

Seems like I spent a weekend camped up on paper ridge, in a cabin, back in the 80's It was an old gold mine, that a friend of mine owned. (family owned I suppose). He said it was too expensive to mine it out, haul it down the mountain and have it smelted.
