There were a few people about, good day for it. When I got to the cove at the bottom, there was a lady frantically trying to get the attention of her husband. A gent of later years shall we say, who'd gone for a dip 'in the nip'! Raining here too, 40 days of it now apparently...

We walked down in the middle of winter and only got to the bridge, fortunatley the wind was behind us on the way up, not one you want to do every day but still need to see inside.

This was the toilet for the port when slate was loaded, as "awoodvine says", there are 12 holes in a seat in a near circle around the wall, and 40 years ago inside the door in the center a fan of upright slate slabs as a urinal. The toilet was flushed by the tide. Vandalism forced the door to be boarded up. I contacted the port some 10 years ago and there were no plans to restore the toilet, It appears some work has been done.

You did well to find it Fernand, and I'm always very pleased when a person looks further than the front page of my gallery as it shows real interest! Many, many thanks to you - glad you liked it!! ;-)))

Friendly greetings from England to France, Lesley
