My father-in-law was murdered on this block back in the early 1970's A couple of drug addicts beat him up, stole his wallet, and left him laying on the sidewalk with a broken back. The police found him laying there and took him to County Hospital (now Stroger) where he died a couple of days later. I wonder is this neighborhood has improved any over the years. Used to be a very dangerous place.
