Metamorpho Man's conversations

You can walk down Woodruff creek and up the second tributary on river-right or go overland, parking at the Mt Hillers (I think) pull out. There are some pretty hairy spots, don't expect to be able to walk the entire channel without gear.

This place is known as "The Moon" locally. There is at least two legit caves although one is a pretty tight fit to get inside. The trail runs up the hill just past the first pine trees on your right going up the hill from Canal Blvd. For years it was completley overgrown. However, I recently noticed that some on uncovered the first few hundred yards.

Not exactly, there is a lot of other volcanic rock (I think andesite but could be wrong) but heaps of obsidian.

Welcome :) Took a look at your photo. Great shots!

Unfortunatly the weather was pretty cloudy when we stayed there, we even had some snow fall on the camp site. So we couldn't see much of San Lorenzo while hiking. But most of my only three week was really sunnier than expected. :)

It began drizzling, then sprinkling, then raining. Next thing you knew we were waist deep in cold muddy water. It was exhilarating. I have another image titled "Potholed slot canyon", it is similar to what this image looked like over the summer, before the rain (and just down river).
