I knew that my childhood home at 1217 N. Cleaver was up for sale. But the next time I looked at Google maps, this is what I saw. There was my old house, sitting in a plie of rubble. Only the yellow brick base was recognizable.
This is the apartment I grew up in. We lived on the top floor in the back apartment and then we moved to the front apartment.In 1973 my dad passed away in the front bedroom.
I grew up in the apartment building beside the store in the sixty and seventies.This store was called Bill's then.Our land lord was Rose and Arnold There was a picture painted of the apartment building with my dad,brother and Arnold sitting on the steps. I wold loveto find that picture!!!
